When replacing injectors on 1994-2003 Ford Power Stroke 7.3L engines, or Navistar T444E, Navistar DT466E, Navistar I530E or Navistar HT530 engines, you need to properly clean or replace the cylinder head injector sleeve where the injector seal makes contact. If the sealing surface is not clean, the nozzle tip gasket can not make a good seal and combustion gasses can get past the seal and cause damage to the injector and the cylinder head. Carbon can build up between the injector and the head, making it very difficult to remove the injector.
