Alliant Power part number AP63518 engine fan clutch for 2008-2010 Ford trucks with the 6.4L Power Stroke  diesel engine with snow plow package.

This is the fan clutch that aids in the regulation of the engine coolant temperature. The engine coolant thermostat stays closed and does not allow coolant to flow through the radiator until the coolant reaches 192 degrees Fahrenheit. Once the coolant reaches that temperature the thermostat opens and the coolant flows through the radiator and is cooled by the airflow across the radiator fins. If the coolant temperature gets too high the fan clutch is engaged and even more air is drawn across the radiator. If the coolant temperature drops below 192 degrees Fahrenheit the thermostat closes and the cycle repeats.  Two thermostats allow for more precise control over coolant flow compared to one.  The 6.4L engine also has a secondary coolant system that uses an electric coolant pump.  The pump is turned on and off as needed to control the coolant temperature in that system.  Alliant Power has decades of experience in the diesel industry and has emerged as a trusted and leading brand, dedicated to delivering innovative and reliable products to meet the diverse needs of customers worldwide.
