A proper seal between the injector inlet connector and the injector body is critical. There is no gasket, just a metal to metal seal to insure the extremely high fuel rail pressures do not leak fuel into the engine cylinder head and crankcase. Due to this critical seal it is recommended to replace the inlet connector each time the injector is removed.
