Garrett part number 773542-5001S is an upgraded version of the stock turbo that came on 2004-2010 Chevrolet & GMC trucks, designed for engines with power upgrades up to 575 HP.  The Garrett PowerMax GT4094VA Stage 2 Turbocharger is a high-performance upgrade designed for 2004.5-2010 GM 6.6L Duramax diesel engines, including LLY, LBZ, and LMM models. This turbocharger features advanced variable nozzle turbine (AVNT) technology, providing increased compressor and turbine flow for enhanced engine performance across the entire RPM range. With a 68mm compressor wheel and a 68mm turbine wheel, it supports up to an estimated 575 horsepower without sacrificing daily driving ability. The unit is a direct drop-in replacement, maintaining compatibility with factory electronics and requiring no additional modifications.  The larger wheels will have a slightly slower spool-up time compared to the stock turbo or the stage 1 turbo, but has more top end flow to support the higher power levels.

For a small increase in price over the Garrett stage 1 you can get a turbo that will support more power than the stock transmission will safely handle!  This direct bolt in turbo is capable of supporting 575 HP, which requires upgrading the Allison automatic transmission.  If you want a great turbo upgrade for having fun and working hard with the popular over-the-counter power upgrades and beyond, this is a good choice.  The Advanced Variable Nozzle Turbine (AVNT^TM) makes these turbos run like a set of compound turbos.  You get quick spool up and good flow for maximum power.  You do not have to sacrifice towing ability or performance with this all-around factory drop-in replacement turbo.
