2007-2024 Ram 6.7L Cummins Diesel Intake Manifold Pressure Temperature Sensor MAP

Cummins part number 5698456 is a manifold pressure and temperature sensor (MAP) located on the intake manifold air horn used on 2007-2024 Dodge Ram trucks with the 5.9L Cummins diesel engine.

This is a genuine Cummins part number 5698456.  This is a cross-reference to Dodge Ram part number 68282012AB.  Dodge and Ram have multiple MAP sensors listed, and it makes it difficult to find the correct part.  This MAP sensor is mounted on the intake air horn manifold that goes into the engine.  This sensor is commonly clogged up with engine soot and causes incorrect readings.  Improper readings can lead to trouble codes P2459 = Diesel Particulate Filter Regeneration Too Frequent, and P0299 = Turbocharger Under Boost.  It is a good idea to check for soot and change, if necessary, the exhaust manifold pressure sensor also if you have these codes.
